Intuitive's Clinical and Technology Research Grants for 2020
"Dear da Vinci surgeons and researchers:
Intuitive and the Intuitive Foundation are pleased to announce the 2020 Research Grant programs.
At the end of 2018, Intuitive announced the launch of the Intuitive Foundation, which works to promote health, advance education, and reduce human suffering through grant programs.
The Intuitive Foundation will fund Robotic Surgery Fellowships and Clinical Research Grants previously funded by Intuitive. The Foundation is also offering a new Training and Education Research Grants program. Intuitive will continue to support the Technology Research Grants program.
Intuitive and the Intuitive Foundation confer all awards on a competitive basis by submission of a grant application --- we encourage you to apply for any of the grant programs. The deadline for submitting letters of intent is June 10, 2019.
Grant awardees will address important clinical questions, investigate impactful training approaches, or support clinically relevant technology development related to robotic-assisted surgery. Grants will be awarded to researchers at non-profit institutions worldwide.
Available Funding
Grant monies can be used to fund salaries, equipment, supplies and/or travel required to support the proposed research project for a period of up to one year.
Applicants for the Clinical Research Grants and Technology Research Grants may apply for funding up to $60,000 per project (US dollars, total costs) Applicants for the Training and Education Research Grants for robotic-assisted surgery have two funding options for the upcoming grant cycle:
° Applicants may apply for grant funding up to $60,000 per project (US dollars, total costs).
° Applicants may apply for grant funding up to $30,000 (US dollars, total costs) plus a 12 month loan of a Not for Human Use Surgeon Console and SimNow Simulator. Note that the Patient Side Cart and Vision Cart are not included in this loan.
