Intuitive at J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference 2021
Last week, Intuitive's CEO, Gary Guthart gave his annual presentation at J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference. The Webcast is available on Intuitive's site.
Some key points made:
- "Surgeons use our products over 1.2 million times in the year 2020.
- We placed 936 da Vinci systems in the year.
- Our clinical library of aggregated clinical evidence grew by another 3,000 peer-reviewed publications.
- Today, on da Vinci, over our history, there have been more than an 8.5 million procedures performed.
- Our clinical installed base stands at almost 6,000 systems.
- The aggregated clinical library is now over 24,000 publications.
- We have a subscription service for simulation that has more than 12,000 surgeons using it routinely. The surgeon hours used in practice and simulation were 34,000 hours in the last year, using 431,000 unique engagements on exercises.
- 2020 has seen in S.Korea a very high utilization: annual procedures per-system for Multiport Xi: 355+; for Single port SP: 400+"

In the meanwhile, Dr. Mani Menon, the Vattikuti Urology Institute and Henry Ford Health System celebrated the 20th anniversary of the first robotic-assisted prostatectomy performed in the United States.
