CFP - Medical Robotics SI @ MDPI Sensors

Call for contribution

The journal MDPI Sensors (ISSN 1424-8220, indexed by SCIE, IF 3.275) is currently running a Special Issue entitled “Medical Robotics”.

Dear Colleagues,

Medical–surgical robotics have a stunning 40-year history, and now, as innovations in the field rapidly accelerate, there has been an unprecedented rise in applications and systems. Surgical robotics are entering new domains, requiring highly sophisticated manipulation skills and decision making, while rehabilitation and assistive robotics are now conquering several domains. The newest generation of medical robots not only functions as an agile extension of the human eyes and hands, but also becomes a skillful and smart partner to their human counterpart. The goal of this SI is to more broadly engage the medical/surgical robotics community, present the latest developments, and define the roadmap for future enhancements to these platforms. Apart from intelligent sensor technologies, smart mechatronics and data science tools, articles on technical development targeting ergonomics and usability, reports striving to establish a safe and reliable environment for Medical Robots 4.0 should also be included. Automated medical treatment promises a better quality of life for many, where eminence in science, engineering and design should go hand-in-hand, addressing technical-, safety- and performance-related questions. Your submissions are warmly welcomed.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. NB, the Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2200 CHF. The submission deadline is 30 June 2021. The main advantage of submitting a paper to this Special Issue is that your research will be published after peer-review in less than four weeks from submission. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
