Levita Robotic Platform: Interview
"Levita Magnetics, a California-based company specializing in laparoscopic systems recently announced the Levita Robotic Platform, a surgical robot still under development that was first used in patient surgery in a Chilean hospital. The robot uses the same magnetic technology as the company’s handheld Levita Magnetic Surgical System.
The technology developed by Levita includes the use of externally applied magnets to control and operate devices such as Graspers that are inserted into the body during laparoscopic surgery. The technology has the advantage of not requiring a fixed pivot point to achieve dexterous movements within the body, and the surgery performed this way requires fewer incisions and reduces patient morbidity, the company said. I am reporting.
The new robot platform combines this magnetic technology with a robot system to enhance convenience and functionality and aim to create a single operator platform. Levita reports that the new system has reduced the number of assistants required by surgeons during surgery."
