Intuitive Q2 updates
Intuitive Surgical closed a strong quarter - again. Some highlights:

- total revenue jumping 20% to about $909 million
- earnings for the quarter rose 14% to $255 million or $2.15 per share
- Global da Vinci procedures grew about 18%
- instrument and accessory revenue higher by about 20%.
- Intuitive Surgical shipped 220 da Vinci surgical systems
- shipments included 44 systems shipped under operating lease arrangements
- Intuitive added the 60 millimeter SureForm surgical stapler to their product portfolio, with 510(K) clearance this month joining its prior CE Mark
- the second-generation cut and seal instrument, Vessel Sealer Extend, is in its first quarter of U.S. launch with outstanding customer feedback
- submitted our 510 (k) for enhanced grasper for hernia repair
- obtained FDA clearance for our da Vinci SP surgical system for neurologic surgical procedures
- finalizing transoral clinical IDE for SP this quarter
- plan to launch the da Vinci SP in the US in phases with first customer shipments expected to begin late Q3 or early Q4 this year
