The recent SI of Proceedings of the IEEE on CIS systems had a great editorial intro. Among other gems, it was mentioned in there the  that "Cumulative publications (in thousands) found with a Google Scholar search of the term “robotic surgery” has risen tremendously. The number of citations when a previous Proceedings of the IEEE overview article appeared was 19 700; the number in September 2021 was approximately 260 000."
